Social Support Program Cook

Permanent part-time

The Social Support Program is funded through the Commonwealth Social Support Program and aims
to promote independence, social connectedness and reduce isolation for people over the age of 65
years, and those with a disability. The program is based on principles of wellness, re-ablement and
restorative care.

The position reports to the Social Support Coordinator and is responsible for preparing and cooking
meals for consumers that attend the Social Support programs in Winchelsea, Beeac, Inverleigh and
Bannockburn.

Key selection criteria.

• Qualifications in commercial cookery desirable and Current Certificate in Food Safety.
• Experience in catering and developing menu plans for clients in a healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated ability or understanding in working with elderly, vulnerable and consumer diverse
backgrounds.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• A current Victorian driver’s license.

Communications & Fundraising Officer

0.4 FTE, 32 hours per fortnight

The Communications and Fundraising Officer forms part of the corporate team, fulfilling a key
promotional and community connection role. This role requires the application of well-developed
communication, media and fundraising skills to create community engagement, further reached
through relationships with community partnerships. The role reports to the Chief Executive Officer
(CEO) of Hesse Rural Health.

Selection criteria.

Required
• 1+ year’s prior experience in a communications or marketing role.
• Understanding of best practices of main social media channels including Facebook, LinkedIn,
etc.
• High level competence in the use of Microsoft Office Professional software.
• Must possess exceptional writing skills and be able to compose engaging and accurate
content.
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport with a diverse range of people.
• Strong communicator who works well independently and with a team.
• Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and confidentiality.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Desirable
• Relevant qualification in related field.
• Knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
• Understanding of communications, public relations and marketing best practices.
• Ability to think strategically and identify ways to improve communication efforts.
• A demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with all
internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in supporting the development and implementation of stakeholder engagement
events and communications strategies, including face to face support and preparation of
relevant materials.
