Healthy Communities (Health Promotion)
What we do
Hesse is committed to caring for and improving health across the full spectrum of care. Led by the Healthy Communities Team, this includes promoting good health and preventing poor health outcomes before they occur.
Health Promotion is the process of enabling people to increase control over, and to improve, their health. It moves beyond a focus on individual behaviour towards a wide range of social and environmental interventions, (The World Health Organisation, 2023).
Working with others is central to our work, which is why we greatly value the support from our partners. The Teamwork with a range of settings and partners including early learning centres, schools and the wider local community.
The Healthy Communities Team deliver initiatives in settings where people live, work, learn and play. We have three key priority areas; however, the Healthy Communities Team is mindful to use a co-benefits approach and ensure all actions support the health of the planet and work to tackle climate change.
Our priority areas for 2025-2026 are:
|
|
Strengthening Food Systems |

Supporting Climate & Health, through a co-benefits approach |
