Hesse Rural Health (Hesse) is excited to announce Ian Whiting as the new Chair of their Board of Directors. After five years as Board Chair, Kathy Taylor chose not to re-stand during her final years of her third term, enabling a successful transition to a new Board Chair.
Ian Whiting is an experienced health service director, appointed to Hesse Rural Health’s Board of Directors in July 2020, and the current Chair of the Board’s Marketing and Fundraising Sub-Committee. Ian was previously the Board Chair of Western District Health Service, where he was awarded Life Governor for his service. He is a Founder and Director of Oxil.io, an Australian technology company specialising in mobile applications and website development.
Ian was a primary producer at Branxholme in south west Victoria, and he and his wife Sally moved to Ocean Grove in 2020. Ian has an extensive background of leadership in community and sporting organisations, chairing a number of successful fundraising events, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Mr Whiting said it was a great honour to be elected as Board Chair of Hesse Rural Health, “I am looking forward to representing the communities within the Hesse catchment to ensure we continue to provide high quality health and residential aged care and internationally recognised dementia care,”.
“As a board we have a great responsibility to ensure that Hesse remains a strong and viable business to ensure it can continue to serve our community into the future,” he said.
Mr Whiting paid tribute to outgoing chair Kathy Taylor saying she has provided strong leadership as chair over the past 5 years, and has been a great contributor to the governance of Hesse Rural Health during the past 8 years of her Board Director tenure. Kathy remains committed to completing her current Board Director appointment, ensuring a successful transition before finishing her final term in June 2023.
