Mens Health

A number of health promotion programs especially target men’s health needs.

• Men’s Health Forums

Health information particularly relevant to men is provided through regular community education forums with invited guests discussing topics such as prostate health, sexual health, depression, heart disease, diet and healthy eating.

• Rokewood Men’s Shed

The Men’s Shed Program at Rokewood Community Health was officially opened in December 2010. Tackling important social health issues, the group will use the shed as a base to meet and to perform odd jobs such as garden maintenance and small construction projects for the benefit of the local community. New members are most welcome.

• Beeac Men’s Shed

The Beeac Men’s group meets every fortnight, on a Monday, at The Beeac Community Health Centre. Participants are men from the community who have retired or are ‘winding down’. Attending the group is a great chance to come together for a meal and a chat and provides the opportunity to maintain a connection with other men in the community.
Regular outings also occur to various destinations, determined by the group participants.
A small fee applies.
