The Registered Undergraduate Student of Nursing (RUSON) role is being introduced at Hesse due to a successful grant submission. The role is to provide support to the care team in the delivery of safe and quality person centred care. The RUSON is required to work under the supervision and delegation of nursing staff at all times.
The RUSON will always work within their level of education and assessed competencies (See RUSON core activity list) The RUSON role requires successful completion of not less than 12 months of the Bachelor of Nursing degree. A RUSON must maintain their academic obligations in the Bachelor of Nursing and remain as an active student throughout their fixed term employment.
- Participating in the second or third year of a Bachelor of Nursing or a Bachelor of Nursing/ Bachelor of Midwifery or other double degree with a Bachelor of Nursing component, with student registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board Australia (NMBA) via AHPRA.
- Transcript evidence of successful completion of first year undergraduate Nursing qualification at Partner Universities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; including relationship building, team cooperation, and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with a wide range of people, including co-workers, health professionals, residents and family members.
