Volunteers

Volunteers play a vital role within our organisation.

Hesse Rural Health is supported by over fifty volunteers who make a valuable contribution in a variety of ways including friendly visiting to aged residents, participation in Planned Activity Group (PAG) programs, supporting outings and volunteer driving to appointments and community programs. Hesse also has volunteers who assist with fundraising, active members of our Consumer Advisory Committee and our Hospital Auxiliary.

Volunteers are one of Hesse’s greatest assets, playing a vital role to enhance the quality of Hesse services and client experiences. Working directly with clients, staff and other members of our community, Volunteers assist in a variety of programs and services within the organisation across multiple sites.

Why is Volunteering Important?

Volunteering is important because it creates community connections and opportunities for underfunded programs to go ahead. Volunteer programs help organisations to provide vital services to groups and individuals within the community.

Volunteering is an opportunity for members of the community to share talents, learn new skills and create a better work-life balance. For the individual Volunteering can provide a healthy boost to one’s self-confidence, self-esteem and life satisfaction. You are doing good for others and the community, which provides a natural sense of accomplishment. Your role as a volunteer can also give you a sense of pride and identity.

For our organisation Volunteers are a vital resource to operate additional services and programs for the benefit of Clients and the Community. By engaging with Volunteers organisations can build community connections and value within the community.
